Charles Spurlock, Jr

Charles Spurlock, Jr. 71 of Loyall went to meet his heavenly father on August 31, 2019 at his home after a long illness.

Charles was born December 28, 1947 to the late Mary & Charles Spurlock, Sr. He believed in the Pentecostal Faith and was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired coal miner with Jerricol Mining Co.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by, his sister, Gwen Spurlock; son, Joey Leslie and grandson Tommy Leslie.

He is survived by his beloved  wife of 37 years, Oneda Spurlock of Loyall; daughter, Christie (Alex) Hale of Wallins; his brothers and sister   Eugene (Sharon) Spurlock of Harrogate, TN, Edith (Bruce) Helton, of Cumberland; Kenneth (Roseann) Spurlock of Sharps Chapel, TN; five grandchildren, Misty (Paul) Hatfield, Michael (Autumn) Smith, Sara Beth (Josh) Hatfield, Kaylee Leslie and Timothy Leslie; seven great grandchildren, William, Alex, Lura, Denver, Leighton, Talon, and Isaac; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cherished friends and family to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday (Sept. 4) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday (Sept. 5) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Clem and Rev. Lonnie Napier officiating. Music will be by Joann Napier and Lawana Blevins.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.
