Charles Drew

Charles Orville Drew, 76 of Teetersville went to be with his Lord & Savior on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Harlan ARH following a long illness.

Charles never met a stranger and made all who met him feel they had known him for years. He was a proud Veteran, who served his country during the Vietnam War. He was served both the Army and Navy respectfully. He believed in the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Drew and Mary "Granny" Drew; 5 brothers, Melvin Drew, James Brewer, Ray Drew, Layton Drew, and Bobby Drew; 2 sisters, Daisy Drew, and Willie Campbell; 1 great grandchild, Drexel Duncan; 2 special nephews, John Brewer and Frank Campbell.

Charles leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife of 35 years, Betty Ruth Drew; son, Robert Hensley; daughters, Sonya and Tonya Hensley, Bobbie Drew, Charlene Drew (Robert Root), 1 special girl he thought of as a daughter, LeeAnn Cantrell; 2 special grandchildren he loved and raised as his own, Kailey and Colby Shepherd; 7 grandchildren, Heaven Duncan, James Hensley, William Hensley, Robert Hensley, Jr, Amanda Hensley, Edyn Shepherd, and Kenley Shepherd; 3 great grandchildren, Roscoe Duncan, Amia Hensley, and Hope Hensley; he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday (August 10) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. John Lundy and Rev. Denver Brock will officiate the services.

Burial will be 12:00 Tuesday (August 11) at the Wright-Johnson Cemetery at Teetersville, KY Military rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Covid-19 Restrictions of 50% of our capacity, face masks, and social distancing all set by the Governor of Kentucky shall be followed.
