Carolyn J. Fields, 81 of Harlan passed away Saturday morning of April 21, 2018 at the Harlan ARH following a brief illness.
Carolyn was born Jan. 9, 1937 in Harlan, KY to the late Charlie and Frances Marlin. Besides having lived in Dayton and Canton, OH she had resided most of her life here in Harlan. She was retired after 20 years of service to Harlan ARH. A member of the Kelly Street Baptist Church, she enjoyed working politics and loved her family dearly.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Fields; daughter, Glenda Fields; son, Rickie Lynn Fields; 2 sisters, Elaine Marlin and Margaret Jones.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Brenda Fields and Cindy Fields; her grandchildren, Rickie “Josh”, Fields, Jr, Tina Fields Jewell, Jordan Dugger, Evan Dugger, Derek Hensley, Marlin Fields, and Travis Fields; great grandson, Peyton Fields; and great great-granddaughter, Aubrey; her brother, Wesley (Sharon) Marlin; sisters, Charlene Marlin, and Cindy (Rodney) Mott; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends are left to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday (April 24) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
In keeping with her wishes a very simple graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday (April 25) at the Resthaven Cemetery with Pastor Butch Clem officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery chapel just prior to the service time.
