Rev. Burley Blevins

Rev. Burley Blevins, 88 of New Market, TN, formerly of Harlan, KY entered into his great reward on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Born August 29, 1936, in Verda, KY, he held several jobs in his lifetime – coal miner, talented carpenter, and metal craftsman. But the most important job he ever held was to minister, teach and preach the Word of God to anyone who would listen, even on his death bed. He was a minister in the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Responding to His Call Ministry Pentecostal Church in Dandridge, TN.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Blevins, parents Rev. George Blevins and Nancy (Napier) Blevins, a daughter Debra Lynn Bolton, three brothers, Rev. Bill Blevins, Rev. Baxter Blevins, and an infant sister and brother Green Blevins, a son-in-law Howie Sturgill, and several great-grandchildren.

He is survived by six children: Kathy Sawyers of Lexington, KY; Regina Dodson and husband Don of Florence, KY; Tim Napier and wife Peggy of Newport, TN; Terry Napier and wife Mary of Knoxville, TN; Tom Napier of Leslie County, KY; and Pam Sturgill of Harlan. KY. Also surviving is a sister Maryann Blevins of Harlan, KY, 22 grandchildren: David Howard, Jason Howard, Eric Bolton, Joey Bolton, Krista Perry, Katelyn Dodson, Don Dodson III, Lisa Dodson, Jennifer Dodson, TJ Napier, Tiffany Turner, Bobby Cupp, Chandler Napier, Sarah Eldridge, Ashley Napier, Heather Napier, Amie “Tootie” Ditty, Beth Cheek, Cortney Sturgill, Chance Sturgill, Rose Sturgill, Lucas Parker; 38 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces and other family and friends, including his church family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, 4:00-6:00 PM with service following at 6:00PM at Responding to His Call Ministry Pentecostal Church, 1570 West Highway 25/70, Dandridge, TN 37725 with Rev. Charles McKinzie and Rev. Robert Schaffer officiating.

Interment and graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 11th at 2:00 PM at the Evarts Memorial Gardens, Evarts, KY.
