Bobby "Red" Sanders, Sr

Bobby Joe "Red" Sanders, Sr 77 of Wallins, KY passed away on Tuesday morning of April 11, 2023 at the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
Red was born September 3, 1945 in Arjay, KY to the late Roy and Elizabeth Powell Sanders. He was a coal miner, having worked for the Bennett Family for over 30 years. He was the retired owner and operator of Sanders Trucking. He enjoyed gardening and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Brock Sanders; his daughter, Jackie Sanders; brothers, Frank, Ron, and JB Sanders; sisters, Corine Howell, Rita Rice, and Pearlie Sanders.
He is survived by his children, Bobby Joe (Mistie) Sanders, Jr, Roy (Amy) Sanders, and Christopher Sanders; grandchildren, Nicole Blevins, Amber Sanders, and Trey (Jocelyn) Sanders; great grandchildren, Jaycee Simpson, Nolan Simpson, Emersyn Sanders, Wesley Sanders and Wylie Sanders; brother Roy (Mattie) Sanders, Jr; sister, Shirley (Ben) Gambrel; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Saturday (April 15) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm Saturday (April 15) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Simpson officiating.
Private burial will be Monday (April 17) at the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
