Bobby Joe Hensley

   Bobby Joe Hensley, 78 of Cawood passed away on Tuesday afternoon of February 4, 2025 at the UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.

   Bobby Joe was born in Harlan to the late Robert and Maxine Ramsey Hensley. A lifelong resident of Harlan Co., he was self employed coal operator, logging and trucking business. When not working he enjoyed spending time farming.

   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Glen and Freddy Hensley; sister, Mary Lee McArthur.

   He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carlene Napier Hensley of Cawood; children, Robert Wayne (Sheila) Hensley, Tammy Jean (Ronnie) Jackson all of Cranks, Nettie (Oscar) Chasteen of Cawood and Tammy Sue (Tommy) Bailey of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Jewell, Terry Hensley, Dalton Noe, Ben Noe, Makenna Sweet, Chad Chasteen, Dylan Chasteen, Cody Pack and Carley Bailey; great grandchildren, Amelia Chasteen, Abigail Chasteen, Lorelei Sweet, Anna Noe, Andrew Noe, Henleigh Hensley and Bryson Jewell; brothers, Tommy (Linda) Hensley of Cawood and Paul Wayne (Teresa) Hensley of Middlesboro; sisters, Brenda Eversole of Harlan, Peggy (Danny) Owens of Virginia and Debra Vandergriff of Tennessee; he leaves of host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

   Private graveside services will be held Saturday (Feb. 8) at the Hensley Cemetery in Cawood, KY. with Pastor Aaron Stapleton officiating.

   Family will serve as Pallbearers.
