Billy Thomas Poindexter

Billy Thomas Poindexter, 81 of Harlan passed away Thursday January 19, 2017 at his home.
Bill was born January 1, 1936 in Harlan to the late Bill and Marie Burgan Poindexter. He was a retired crane operator and Veteran of the United States Marines.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Marse Farmer; sister, Marzie Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Poindexter; children, Terri Williams, Anita (Richard) Middleton, and Donny (Renee) Poindexter; grandchildren, Amy Bynum and special friend, Ken Hopkins, Melissa Poindexter, Cynthia Sossi, Donny Poindexter, David (Leesa) Williams, Katie Williams, Jordan (Amber) Caito, great grandchildren, Elijah, Isaiah, Alyssa, Xavier, Alaina, Kaleb, Kyler, Josie, Gunnar, Colton, Adrian, Chase, DJ, Jett, Kennen; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives to mourn his passing.
A gathering of Family and friends will be 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Monday (Jan. 23) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bill’s name to the Cawood Ledford Boys & Girls Club, 1 Positive Place, Harlan, KY 40831.
