Billy Ray Caldwell, 73 of Clarkson, KY formerly of Harlan passed away Friday morning of September 30, 2022 at his home, surrounded by many of those who loved him.
Bill was born October 29, 1948 in Red Bird, KY to the late Henry and Loria Whitehead Caldwell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War attached to the 82nd Airborne division, Ft Bragg, NC, 3rd Division. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville, KY. He loved raising a garden, being in the woods, woodworking from the time he was a little boy. Bill felt bound to the land and enjoyed all that nature provided.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip and Doug; sisters, Jean, Nannie, Fern, Wanda, Marie, and Opal.
He is survived by his beloved and amazing wife, Marsha Russell Caldwell whom he loved for many years; brother, Henry L. (Donna) Caldwell; sisters, Laura, Betty (John), Bonnie (Haskel), Loretta (Jim) and Donna Morgan; his siblings, in Ohio, Robin Faye, Kathy, Sharon, Judy, Rick, and Greg; special thanks to his brother in laws, Sonny, Vic, and Mark who devotedly helped during his difficult time.
Thanks to our nieces and nephews for letting us be "Granny and Pappy" especially Carter, Hunter, Jayce, and Tanner.
I would like to also thank Stephanie, Carol, and Dan for the love and friendship they shared with Bill.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday (Oct. 5) at the Park Howard Cemetery at Wallins, KY. with Rev. Jack Carmical officiating.
Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
