Bill Day, 68 of Harlan passed away Saturday Oct. 19, 2013 at his home.
Bill was born at Pine Mountain, KY to the late Abner and Zelphia Huff Day. He was retired employee of Blanton’s Texaco (20 years) and Alford’s Shell Station (6 years). He was a member of the Coxton Tabernacle Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Bonnie Day and Maude Lewis.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Elkins Day of Harlan; daughter, Robin (Clifford) Mitchell of Harlan; 2 brothers, Wilmer Day of Pineville and John Day of Bledsoe; 2 sisters, Florence (Kyle) Murphy of Lancaster, KY and Armilda (Junior) Belcher of Wallins; he leaves several nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be Sunday Oct. 20, 2013 from 5 until 8 at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday Oct. 21, 2013 in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Nicely officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sergent Cemetery at Rosspoint.
Clifford Mitchell, Larry Reed, Tim Bowman, Kyle Murphy, Jr, Stan Nicely, Jr, Charlie Belcher, Jr will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are George Chandler, Sam Martin, Jerry Day, and Jack Anderson.
