Betty L. Smith

Betty L. Smith 87 of the Catrons Creek Community passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Betty was born April 29, 1930 in Cranks to the late John and Cora Lee Powell Burgan. She was retired from the business offices at the Harlan ARH with 26 years of service and member of the Cranks Presbyterian Church.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Archie L. Smith; brothers, Charles, Clifford, and Raymond Burgan; sister, Kila Wilson.
She is survived by nieces, Coretta (John L.) Mitchell of Cranks, Janice Card of Louisville; special friends, Johnny Mac and Linda White; special friend and caregiver, Trish Burd; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her Catrons Creek neighbors also are left to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be Wednesday (June 21) from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday (June 22) at the Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
