Beth Tompkins, 56 of Harlan passed away on Thursday evening of February 4, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY.
Beth was survived by her husband, Terry L. Tompkins by one day, who passed away on February 5, 2021 in Harlan, KY.
Beth, having lived and grown up, and graduated from Evarts High School, went on to move to Baxter, KY in her twenties. She owned and operated Trail Riders, a four-wheeler shop with special friend, Lisa Lefevers Creech, and then her husband, Terry, while working at Cumberland River Comprehensive Center in Harlan, KY. She was talented in working with jewelry and homemade items or crafts for Christmas, and other occasions and so much of her work can be seen in places like Sassy Trash in Harlan, KY. Beth was kind to everyone she met, going way out of own way to help others, loved laughter, and loved her Lord Jesus. She did for others in so many ways, and took such good care of her husband, Terry.
Gone on to Heaven before her, was her special grandparents, Harvey & Ionia Tackett; parents Ralph and Myrtle Helton of Evarts; niece Allyson M. Helton Howard and her children, Alex and Olivia Howard, and so many other relatives and friends.
Survivors include her Brother Clark Helton of Pennington Gap, VA, Susan Childers King, Hoyleton, IL/Evarts, KY, Katie Hall, London, KY and Priscilla Odhner, Alvarado, TX. step sons, Terry A. (Gladys) Tompkins, John M. Kinner, Jarad Tompkins, and Bryan Tompkins; Special cousin, Diane Whitehead, Stinnett, KY, and a host of special nieces and nephews: Melody Clutts, Shawn Helton, Ricky Howard, Kristen and Daniel Hall, Heather Holland, Chad and Ozzy Howard, Danialle Williams Arvin, all of KY, and Cameron, David, Mark and Willie Odhner, and Robert Reviere, TX.; a special friend, Janie Gross.
Together, Beth and Terry loved their pets, Cindy, Pickles, and Harley.
In keeping with Beth's wishes her family has chosen Cremation and she will be laid to rest with her husband at the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned at a later date and will be announced.
